I Know Someone
We all look for good examples in life. We honor those who have lived an exemplary life. We build monuments, write books and pen poetry. Many times, we miss the examples of those who are close to us. For example,
I know someone who can be cheerful, ignoring his many aches and pains. I know someone who can resist complaining.
He can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it.
He understands when loved ones are too busy to give him any time.
He can overlook it when those he loves take it out on him when, when through no fault of his, something goes wrong.
I know someone who can take criticism and blame without resentment.
He can ignore a friend's limited education and never correct him/her.
He can resist treating a rich friend better than a poor friend.
He faces the world without lies and deceit.
He conquers tension without medical help and can relax without liquor.
He sleeps without the aid of drugs.
I am thouroughly convinced that deep in his heart, he has no prejudiceagainst creed, color, religion, or politics.
He will never tell you how wonderful he is.
He lives his life withoutfanfare, leading by example.
Few will remember his name after he has died.
He has never attended church and never reads the Bible.
He is a dog.
Imagine what we can do by reading the Bible, praying andfellowshipping with others.
