I have a new girl friend and she is madly in love with me. She hugs me and kisses me and falls asleep on my arm. Let me back up a minute.
Josephine had a rough childhood and grew up wild and untrusting. She didn’t like me or anyone. Well, maybe deep down inside she did but she couldn’t let herself get close to anyone. One day she got sick. Real sick and we brought her from the shelter into our home. We pulled her away from what few fur friends she had and somewhere during the course of our nursing her back to health she learned that maybe, just maybe there might be someone who really cared.
Josephine slowly recovered and became a part of our simple lives and then one night, she silently whispered, “I love you.”
“Are you talking to me?” I asked.
“Yes,” she replied and then she laid her head on my arm.
Since that revelatory evening, Josephine and I have spent many loving hours together. We’re a item. We’re a big hit around the homestead. So why am I telling you this? Because I know you care. Josephine doesn’t know that you care but now that you two have been introduced you can tell her yourself. She never learned how to read but if you write a message I’ll read it to her. Deal?
Isn’t my new girlfriend adorable?
