Making Each Other Better

I was so tired today that I decided to take a nap. I had barely climbed into bed when the Budster jumped up and laid down next to me. He normally stays just long enough to get some pets and then he gets down but today was the exception. He laid down, cuddled and fell asleep. The two of us had a good nap together and I was ready to get up before he was. I decided to watch some television and he followed me and climbed onto the sofa next to me where we continued the cuddle thing. We spent an enjoyable afternoon together. When my show was over, I put my boots on and whispered in his ear, “You want to go outside?” He did and off we went, slogging through the guck in the yard. What a mess! I know we need the rain but enough is enough.

Back inside, the Budster took off for his cubby and it was the Duchess’s turn for Daddy love time. She climbed onto the sofa and did the upside down adorable puppy dog thing, which is a cute look for such a large dog. Blessed with such good company, I decided to watch a little more television. Meanwhile, Mom was tending to her fur shadow in the kitchen and I suspect Mumford got more than her share of lickums. Mom spoils that girl.

The last evening of the weekend is winding down and another Monday lurks in the darkness but together we can handle that when it gets here. All we have to do is keep moving forward and stay surrounded with love. Love is the only thing that gives a greater return than what you invest and yes, love is an investment because when you give it, you are investing in the recipient’s well-being. You make them better and they make you better. I suppose you could say that we made each other better this weekend. We’re not “all better” but we’re better, if you know what I mean.

It’s not too late for a little lovin’ tonight. Go give some and get some and you’ll be better for it and if you miss out tonight, be sure to take care of that first thing in the morning.

Have a good night, y’all. We’ll catch up with ya tomorrow. Thanks for everything.
